Festivus Time

One of the things that drove me out of my latent, sympathetic stance with political conservatives was their ridiculous attachment to, and defense of, religion and religiosity. And even though my facebook page announces my fandom proudly, it is one aspect of Andrew Sullivan's writings that drives me crazy.

Enough with the superhero baby nonsense already. enough with with the treacly schmaltz and faux goodwill toward men. I like discussing things a little more rationally, and a little less based on what someone's guts tell them.

That's why I'm enjoying "the Secular Right"- secularright.org/wordpress/. I enjoy godless baby killers of any persuasion, but it is nice to finally see a group on the writers on the right, besides the deeply pickled Hitchens, who see the world from a conservative standpoint without taking on all of the ridiculous baggage of the 'religious' right.
